Sand Casting with Silver Workshop

Spend a day learning how to use the delft sand casting technique to cast 3D objects in silver.

Bring along some convex objects to cast or cast from a selection of items I have here at the workshop. Some people like to bring shells from a special beach, or other items that have some meaning to them. You can carve a wax ring before the workshop using one of our wax carving kits (see shop) and bring it along to cast on the day.

We will be using a silver melting furnace and pouring molten silver into our moulds to cast one off items. In small groups of up to 4, you will be shown how to cast an object then clean up your piece(s) and turn them into finished jewellery. Skills used will be sand casting, sawing, soldering, drilling and different polishing techniques. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those wanting to improve their skills.

Silver is on top of the workshop day price and will need to be paid for on the day. This can range from £20 - £85 depending on the size and weight of what you make.

Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

You will need to bring a packed lunch.
